Video Pick of The Week!

This week’s Video pick of the week is “Premye Fwa” by Yani Martelly (Michel-Yani Martelly), the son of Haiti’s current president, Michel Martelly also known by his stage/musician name “Sweet Micky”.  “Premye Fwa” is Haitian Creole for “The first time”.  The chorus of the song “Premye Fwa Mwen Te Wè’w” translates to “The first time I saw you”.  This is not only a great song but also a great video with cool  effects.

Video Pick of The Week!

KREYOL LA: BEFORE & AFTER and TRIYE

This week’s video pick has two songs featured in one video.  The video is by the popular Haitian band Kreyol  La. The group “Kreyol La” was created after David Dupoux, Keyboard player and founding member of “Konpa Kreyol”left the band after being together for 6 years. Joseph Zenny jr. (Ti Joe), lead singer and also one of the founding members of “Konpa Kreyol”, found a key board player to replace David Dupoux after his departure, renamed the group, and went on to create “Kreyol La” with the remaining members.

There are two different topics highlighted in this video.  Part 1 talks about the “Before and after” of a relationship, by highlighting the honeymoon stage and then depicting the later stages of a  relationship.  Part 2 highlights the challenges of choosing the right mate as a single person (i.e “the good ones are always taken” dilemma) as well as the importance of searching until you find that right and available match.

We welcome your comments below regarding the relationship topics highlighted in this video. Let us know if you agree with the depiction of these scenarios, would you say this is the norm, the exception, or is this relative to various factors?
